Big Bass Reel Repeat Slot Review

What happens when a bonus round ends, then starts over with everything already won still banked? That question is the entire pitch of Big Bass Reel Repeat slot, the August 2025 entry in Pragmatic Play's fishing line and the one that gave the series its restart mechanic. The numbers underneath will look familiar to anyone who has spent time with these games: 96.51% RTP, a 5x3 grid, ten fixed paylines, very high volatility and a 5,000x ceiling. What changed is the Repeat feature, plus a synthwave reskin that trades the country lake for neon wireframe.

Theme, Graphics & Sound

The lake is gone. Pragmatic Play dropped the fisherman into an eighties arcade instead: glowing grid lines behind the reels, chrome fish with contour markings, ray guns sitting where tackle boxes used to be, and an angler styled as a time traveller with sunglasses he never takes off.

Anyone who has played Big Bass Splash will recognize the animation timing straight away, because the reskin leaves the rhythm of the game alone. Fish still flop when they land. The scatter still arrives with the same chime.

Sound design carries most of the personality. The synth bassline under the base spins is subdued enough to sit through for an hour, and it lifts sharply the moment a third scatter drops. Visually the palette leans hard on magenta and cyan and rarely leaves them, which looks striking for ten minutes and slightly flat after sixty.

RTP, Volatility & Hit Frequency

RTP here is 96.51%, near the top of what this series offers, and the feature buys do not lower it. Volatility is rated very high, and the hit numbers explain why the label fits. Something pays on roughly one spin in 7.7, which sounds healthy until you check what those wins are worth. Five of a kind on a themed symbol caps at 200x the bet. Everything above that lives inside the free spins.

That gap is the shape of a session here. Small returns keep the balance ticking over while the bonus stays out of reach, and the bonus is where the game actually pays.

Symbols & Payouts

The paytable is deliberately thin. Royals from 10 through A return 5x to 10x for a full line of five. The themed symbols, boats, tackle boxes, ray guns and dragonflies, pay between 20x and 200x. Neither band is where the money sits.

Every prize worth waiting for comes from money symbols during free spins, and each of those carries its own value between 2x and 5,000x the stake. During the bonus they can also land oversized, filling a 2x2 or 3x3 block on the grid, which multiplies how many values a single wild sweeps up.

Big Bass Reel Repeat Bonus Features

Free Spins

Scatters settle the length of the round before a single spin runs. Three of them put ten spins on the counter, a fourth stretches that to fifteen, and a fifth pushes it to twenty. Two scatters with a third close by will often be rescued, either by a respin or by the game placing the missing symbol itself.

Inside the round the Fisherman wild appears for the first time. He substitutes for standard symbols, ignores scatters and money fish, and sweeps every cash value on the screen into the running total when he lands. Four Fishermen collected adds ten spins and steps the multiplier up, first to 2x, then 3x, then 10x at the fourth retrigger.

Card Modifiers

Twelve face-down cards appear before the spins begin, and one gets turned over. More Fish raises both the count and the values of money symbols. Higher Multipliers lifts the retrigger ladder to 4x, 6x and 20x. The third card lowers the collection requirement from four Fishermen to three. MEGA hands over all three at once.

Reel Repeat

The feature the game takes its name from does not show up on an ordinary spin. It works at the end of the round rather than inside it: once the free spins run out, the whole bonus can restart from the beginning with the same modifier card, and every coin already won stays banked. Chaining two or three rounds together is how the big screenshots happen.

Access comes through the 160x feature buy or the matching ante settings, and reading those prices against each other is instructive. A standard round costs 100x the bet. The version that can restart costs 160x, so the restart chance alone carries a 60% premium over the plain bonus. The guaranteed MEGA sits far above both at 1,250x.

The Big Bass Line-Up

More than thirty Big Bass titles are live in our lobby, and the core of the line runs below. Set the ceilings side by side and the studio's approach becomes clear: RTP across the whole family sits inside a narrow band between 96.07% and 96.72%, while max win has climbed from 2,100x on the 2020 original to 25,000x on the newest 1000 release. Reel Repeat sat out that arms race. It kept the 5,000x cap and spent its budget on a mechanic instead.

How to Play

Bets start at $0.10 and reach $250 a spin. Money symbol values scale with whatever you set, so a 5,000x fish on a $0.20 stake and the same fish on $50 are two very different afternoons. Ten paylines pay left to right from the first reel and none of them can be switched off, which leaves the stake and the optional ante as the only settings to think about.

Demo mode runs in the browser with no download and no deposit, and it is the sensible place to sit through a few natural triggers. Watching the Fisherman collect a screen of values behaves nothing like reading about it.

Reels are not the only format the fishing theme runs on with us. Big Bass Crash puts the same cast on an instant-win game returning 95.50%, which suits much shorter sessions.

If very high variance and a 5,000x cap match what you came for, run Big Bass Reel Repeat in demo until the bonus cadence stops catching you off guard, then move to real stakes with a budget that can survive the gaps between triggers.

Pros

  • 96.51% RTP sits near the top of the series, and none of the buy options reduce it.
  • The Repeat feature is a genuine mechanical addition rather than another reskin, and it protects wins already banked.
  • A single money symbol can carry 5,000x on its own, so one good collect settles the session.
  • Free demo play with the full modifier system available, no download required.

Cons

  • The Repeat feature cannot be reached on a plain spin, only through the 160x buy or an ante setting.
  • The 5,000x ceiling looks modest against the 1000-series titles built on the same grid.
  • Base game pays cap at 200x for five of a kind, which leaves waiting for the bonus as the only plan.
  • Very high volatility means long stretches where nothing meaningful happens.
